The world of social media has exploded in popularity over the last year or two, and it seems the trend is only set to continue.

The traffic numbers that sites like Facebook and Twitter see each day are sometimes truly hard to believe. Now there is a new kid on the block. Blippy is a new social site aiming to take the world by storm.

As if letting everyone on the Internet know when you you last had something to eat, or last cleaned your house wasn’t enough, Blippy will now give you and your friends the chance to share with each other your credit card purchases.

Share Your Transactions With Blippy

What you do when you register with the site is link one of your credit cards to your profile. Then as you use your chosen credit card to make purchases your profile will be updated so your friend’s can view what you bought, and how much you paid for it.

The beauty of the site is that you do not have to actually do any updating of your information at all. Just go about your business as usual, and each time you spend on your credit card, your status will be automatically updated.

Around the Christmas period you can pause the publishing of your information so your friend’s cannot see any presents you may be buying for them, and then you can restart the sharing of the information once you have finished your gift shopping.

Comparisons

People are suggesting that Blippy will be useful as it will allow people to compare prices and see whether they can get better deals from their friend’s information. If you notice one of your friend’s is spending less for an item you normally buy, then you will able to see where they purchased and copy them.

The site is said to be secure as well because your actual card details, or security information is never in the public domain.

At present Blippy is in it’s infancy and has not hit the main stream yet. Personally I would not use the site as somebody who would rather that their spending habits remained private, however for people who do not mind their information out there, then it could be the new Internet craze set to take over the world.

In fact it may well end in a Blippy credit card being available on the market. We say watch this space!
