Jetstar Credit Cards
Jetstar offers discounted flights and associated services in Australia, along with limited international flights. Now there are even Jetstar Credit Cards on offer. The two types of cards, Jetstar MasterCard and Jetstar Platinum MasterCard provide very competitive interest rates and all round good credit card features. Plus you get reward points every time you spend using your card, which can be redeemed for Jetstar flights. Great for frequent flyers or even for the casual vacation and holiday travellers. Jetstar MasterCard
This is the basic option of the two Jetstar Credit Cards on offer. Here is a summary of the salient features of the card:
- Competitive interest rate on purchases - The Jetstar MasterCard gives you very low interest rates on everyday purchases, 11.49% p.a.
- 0% balance transfer - When you apply for this card you have the option of transferring your balance from another card and paying 0% interest for the introductory period of 6 months. If you are looking to consolidate your credit card debt and pay off your balance faster this can be a great option. After you've repaid your balance you can continue to use the card for some great airline rewards.
- Reward points - You receive 1 cent in Jetstar credits for every dollar spent using your card. Reward credits can be redeemed for Jetstar flights at $25 dollar intervals. You will automatically receive Jetstar vouchers in your email inbox once your reward balance reaches $100. There is a rewards cap however, you can gain up to a maximum of $500 worth of reward vouchers per year, i.e., you gain reward points for the first $50,000 spent per year.
- Voucher validity period - You must book your flight within 3 months of receiving your voucher, and have a travel date no later than 6 months from the date of receipt. You can use your voucher to pay the full fare or a part of it.
- Low annual fee - $55 per year.
- Interest free days on purchases - Up to a period of 55 days.
Jetstar Platinum MasterCard
The more heavyweight option between the two Jetstar Credit Cards, this has similar benefits to the previous card. The differences are outlined below:
More reward points - You gain accelerated reward points, 2 cents for every dollar spent on purchases. Higher interest rate on purchases - 18.49% p.a. Complimentary insurances - You get travel and transport accident insurance (120 days of cover) and purchase protection insurance (90 days), as well as extended warranty.
Higher annual fee - $149 per year.
